Thank you to everyone who attended or supported the Benefit Dinner for the Eparchy of Saint Maron, and for Lebanon in this most difficult time, last night at the Union League Club!
Two hundred people attended from all four New York area Maronite communities – Saint John Paul II Parish in Sleepy Hollow, Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral in Brooklyn, the Maronite Mission in Manhattan and Saint Sharbel Parish in Somerset, NJ, as well as from parishes in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Virginia and Florida.
The Honorees, Bassam and Mirna Ayoub, and Doctor Charbel Ishak and Doctor Maria Ajaimy, received citations from the New York State Assembly presented by Representative Michael Tannousis.
A Silent Auction of appealing items from reputable businesses including Middle East Airlines, Hannoush Jewelers and Ilili Restaurant, as well as two beautiful icons and other items, was very successful. The winning bid for the private dinner at Bishop Gregory’s residence was $10,000!
Attendees enjoyed a savory meal and engaging presentations. The dinner was held in the fabled Lincoln Room at the Union League Club.
