The Maronite Servants of Christ the Light will be hosting a new Maronite Faith Formation Series starting Thursday February 6-20th through the Saint Sharbel Center to help our people to learn more about our unique Maronite History.

Over the weekend we received the sad news of the passing of Estephan El Tabchi, the father of Fr. Andrawos El Tabchi, who died on December 13th, 2024, at the age of 72.

We invite you to gather with fellow Maronites from across the United States to march for the unborn, and to witness the sanctity and dignity of human life from the womb to the tomb. The 2025 March for Life will take place on Friday, January 24th in Washington, DC. 

To help us enter the Season of the Glorious Birth of Our Lord more deeply, the Couples Ministry of the Eparchy of St. Maron of Brooklyn, NY and Bishop Gregory Mansour intend to host a Zoom discussion on the “Announcements Leading to Christmas” on Tuesday, December 3rd from 8:00PM - 9:00PM.

In the Catholic Church in the United States, National Vocation Awareness Week is celebrated November 3-9, 2024. It is an annual week-long dedicated to promote vocations to ordained ministry and consecrated life through prayer, invitation, education, and to also renew our prayers and support for those who are considering these vocations. 

The Eparchy's 2024 Benefit Dinner brought together people from all over to support our Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn. Two lovely couples were honored for their hard work and continued service to our church and community.  A portion of the proceeds of the dinner will go to help Lebanon.

The situation in Lebanon is getting worse each day. Almost every Catholic hospital, care facility, church, monastery, school and home is now a place of refuge for the displaced Christian and Muslim alike.

Pope Francis has called us to pray and fast in a special way on Monday October 7 for world peace.

We received the sad news of the passing of Goldie Bowlen Faris, the mother of Chorbishop John Faris, who died on September 17", 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband John M. Faris, and her sons Ronald and Scott.

I am sorry to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Claire Marie Mooradd, the mother of Father Paul Mooradd. We extend our sincere sympathy to Father Paul and to all the members of his family. May she rest in peace. 

After having received the Sacrament of the Sick and Holy Viaticum, on September 7, 2024, George James Mansour died peacefully, at age 93, at Villa Maria, Miami, Florida with his family near praying the rosary.

Hearing God’s call in a world where there is so much noise is never easy. Nonetheless, we know there are men in our parishes called to the priesthood. Can we help them hear this call? 

Let us discern with them, to the best of our abilities, and put them on the right path. In this way we will be privileged to accompany men who show signs of a vocation to the priesthood, as well as promote the beauty of the priesthood in all that we do. 

I am happy to announce that Linda George, coordinator of the Office of Family and Sanctity of Life, is working on an initiative to begin the Women Of Grace program within our parishes. I would like to promote this group in all interested parishes.

I invite you to join us as we celebrate the 40th Jubilee of Mother Marla Marie Lucas in Religious Life and the 16th Anniversary of the founding of the Maronite Servants of Christ the Light.

The Maronite Servants will be hosting a new Faith Formation Online series starting Thursday September 26 through the Saint Sharbel Spiritual Life Center to help our people to learn more about our unique Maronite History. 

There will be three different clergy from the Eparchy of Saint Maron presenting these sessions on three consecutive Thursdays at 8pm.
