Dear Brother Priests, Deacons and Subdeacons, Consecrated Men and Women, Brothers and Sisters;
I am happy to inform you that today, Our Holy Father Pope Francis, has appointed as the Administrator of the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of the Martyrs of Lebanon in Mexico City, Father Elie Mikhael, currently the pastor of Saint Anthony Church in Lawrence, MA.
Father Elie’s appointment is correlated to the request for retirement for reasons of age, made by the Most Reverent Georges Saad Abi Yunes, the Eparchial Bishop of that Eparchy, which was accepted by the Holy Father this morning.
Father Elie will serve the Maronite clergy, religious, and faithful there as Apostolic Administrator of that Eparchy for an indeterminant period of time.
We congratulate Father Elie on this appointment, and ask that you join me in praying for him as he begins this new and exciting assignment.
