Dear Msgrs., Fathers, Deacons, and Subdeacons,

It is our sad duty to announce the passing of Deacon Robert Gerald Foster of Our Lady of the Cedars Church in Fairlawn, Ohio on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023. Deacon Robert was 92 years old.

Deacon Robert was born on March 8, 1931 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War with honor. He would retire from LTV Steel after many years of hard work.

Always an active and devoted member of Our Lady of the Cedars Church, Deacon Robert was deeply committed to his faith and serving others. He was known for his kindness and giving nature.

Deacon Robert is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, and his children: Paula (Mike) Anderson, Kimberly Mann, Scott Foster, Krista (Mark) Weber, and his stepdaughter, Barbara Parker (Mike) Casey, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Deacon Robert's life will take place at Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 507 South Cleveland-Massillon Road, Fairlawn, Ohio on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. The viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by a Christian Mass of burial at 12:00 Noon. Internment will occur at a later date.
