God’s only Son came, took flesh to save us,
and longed to break bread with his apostles.
At the Last Supper he gave a new feast;
words of the prophets have found fulfillment.
Jesus, our High Priset, offered with great love
his flesh and pure blood for our salvation.
This is the true pledge made by our Savior,
whom we remember, now and for ever.
Our Lord has taught us at this Last Supper:
He is the true bread come down from heaven.
For our salvation he drank from death’s cup,
that we may now drink life everlasting.
