Dear Brother Priests, Deacons and Subdeacons, Consecrated Men and Women and Lay Faithful,
It is my sad duty to announce the passing of Deacon John Manhire on Tuesday January 28, 2025, in Bryan, Texas.
Deacon Manhire was born May 9, 1947, in New Brunswick, New Jersey to his parents John and Josephine Manhire. He is survived by his wife Diane; his three children, Jack, Mark, and Denise; fifteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In October 2010 Deacon Manhire was Ordained a Subdeacon by Chorbishop Michael G. Thomas, at Saint Jude Church in Orlando, Florida. In April 2013, I ordained him a Deacon at Saint Jude Church. Deacon Manhire has served many roles at Saint Jude Church for the last 15 years. He will be greatly missed.
Deacon Manhire was preceded in death by his parents. A viewing was held Sunday, February 2 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station, Texas. His funeral Mass was 3 p.m. Monday at Mary's historic church in College Station. A more detailed Obituary from Deacon Manhire's family is linked in the email.
