Passing of Norbert Vogl, Jr. father of Subdeacon Norbert Vogl

Norbert George Vogl, Jr., 92, of Colchester and Essex Junction, Vermont, passed away peacefully the morning of August 7, 2024 in the comfort of his family. He was a devoted member of Holy Cross Church in Colchester, Vermont where he was actively involved with many aspects of Catholic education; a member of the Knights of Columbus, an Eagle Scout, Cubmaster and Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, and a volunteer with civic organizations over the years.

Pray for the end of the war in Gaza and southern Lebanon

As a result of our meeting with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican, we have decided to issue this appeal: Prayers will be held in all our churches in Lebanon, the patriarchal territories, and diaspora countries on the coming Saturday and Sunday, June 29 and 30, for the end of the war in Gaza and southern Lebanon, and for the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in these regions.

Since last year, the Vocations Team has been meeting regularly and working diligently to create different resources that we have sent you; a vocation video, a poster for all the parishes promoting vocations; a vocation curriculum for grades K-3, 4-6 & MYO; vocation prayer cards, and an icon of the Holy Family mailed from the Chancery to each parish to encourage individual families to pray for vocations in their own families and parishes.
